Deal with car disposal so that everyone benefits
When your car comes to the end of its natural life span, then there are always plenty of options as to what you can do with it. A lot of people choose to try and keep the vehicle going. Sometimes if you spend perhaps three or four hundred pounds on the vehicle you might be able to get the thing going again, and it might just creep around to its next MOT, but the problem with doing this is that you are probably spending more money on the car than it is actually worth, which when you think about it is ridiculous. If you have to spend five hundred pounds on an old car to get it going again, you might as well spend three hundred pounds on an old banger that is still going! The other problem with doing this is that having spent all the money getting it back on the road, it is just as likely to break down again anytime soon!
A better option is to think about car disposal. Getting rid of your old car is probably the best thing you can do for a number of reasons. Firstly of all, it’s a pretty good thing to do for the environment. Remember that normally when you recycle a car that vehicle will be turned into scrap metal which is often used again, but also, the parts from the car that are salvageable will be sold as second hand parts for vehicles still on the road, so in many respects by scrapping your car you are doing a good deed in more ways than one!
There is also a great new scheme out there at the moment whereby some companies are taking in your vehicle and donating the money made to charities! As outlined in the previous passage, you are already doing the right thing by recycling your car, but if you utilise this new service then you really are going out of your way to do the right thing! The great part is, though, that you really don’t have to go out of your way to make this happen. All you have to do is to call the company that is operating the scheme, and within seven days your car will have been collected. That vehicle will then be sold at a salvage auction, or disposed of at an authorised treatment facility, and either way, you will receive a receipt from the company and from the charity which receives the payment. With literally hundreds of charities to choose form it is hard to see why anyone wouldn’t want to do this. It is a totally transparent service which rids you of your rusting old car, helps the environment through recycling, and of course helps charitable causes. It is certainly hard to see a better way to get rid of your car.
